2nd FPMPAM SABAH MEDICAL CAMP

10th-12th November 2016

The FPMPAM went at it again, as they paid a visit to the rural village of Pensiangan, providing free healthcare to hundreds of villagers. A job well done.


Just as we prepare to leave Asiana Hotel ( KK ) for Pensiangan.

 


To Keningau / Pensiangan via the Tambunan Road across the Crocker Range

 


Across rolling hills and winding roads, beautiful day

 


A pit stop, for relaxation, natures call and also car tyres to cool down

Once off the Sapulut , the journey gets tough as we engage logging roads

 


This is a transit stop. We have to change from our 11 seater van, to these tougher 4x4, signaling that the way ahead is no joke. Getting ready for real off road conditions, as we will soon find out.

 


Here we go. Narrow mud tracks, winding up hill and downhill. Our driver was very skillful just to stay on the road

Cardboard advertisement for the Camp tomorrow. This notice was placed outside a sundry shop belonging to one Mr Goh. The Chinese were here since the colonial days History records that they started as traders in good quality natural Birds Nest which they harvest from the caves around Pensiangan

 


We drove to the north part of the town and our sleeping quarters were at the south part, so we have to use this single span suspension bridge to cross back and forth. Let me assure you, it is a nervy experience.
