Message from President

Fellow Doctors,
“THIS IS THE TIME FOR LEADERSHIP”
On 5th May 2013, the nation will once again be called to make a choice.
As individual doctors, you are the custodian of the health of your patients and their families. Ultimately as a group, doctors are the custodians of the nation’s health.
As doctors, you have sworn to safeguard and care for your patients. With this come certain obligations:
It is your duty to guide and advise your patients and their families as to what is best for their future, health wise.
It is your duty to advise and behold upon them to exercise their vote and to make the right choice. This they must do on the fateful day of 5th May 2013.This is not the time to sit on the fence and let the tide of politics and the agendas of politicians ride over their right to have quality accessible and affordable healthcare.
It is your duty to advise them what is right and good for their health and ultimately the health of the nation.
The choice is clear.
For their health and the health of the nation, Honesty, Transparency, Fairness, Compassion, Professionalism in Healthcare is paramount.
Our nation's healthcare cannot be allowed to be commercialized and sold to the highest bidder. The middlemen in healthcare are and will continue to drive up cost, limit accessibility and hinder continuity of care. Eventually we will pay more and get less.
It is your duty to inform and advise that this cannot be allowed to go on. This is the time for your leadership.
5000 of us seeing 30 to 50 patients daily for the next 20 days can do a lot to lobby for the right choice.
Let us show up at our respective voting stations and exercise our right and responsibility as rakyat. Together with our patients, let us cast a vote for a better and brighter Malaysia.
